Spirit word: What do you trust In?
Happy Sunday everyone!
In the midst of the business of my current life, including 2 very adorable and very demanding kids under the age of 4, piles of unfinished laundry (does it ever end, really), missed appointments and cars breaking down, I often have to remind myself what my priorities are and where my trust lies. I used to, and still do at times, rely on myself, on my abilities and talents…until Life was kind enough to bring to my self-indulged attention that I’m not in the driver’s seat here.
If like I am, you are more of a control freak than you’d like to admit, that you’ve been more frustrated and worried than at peace this past week, then it may be time to hop onto the passenger’s seat of Life, and let the Most High take control this bumpy ride. Although I still have a lot of growing up to do (can you say humbling…), this I consider the most important part of my journey to spiritual maturity.
As much as we may miss the blissful time of Childhood, when we could just throw a temper tantrum when we did not get things our way, there is much to look forward to as we evolve and mature as who we are meant to be.
Maybe this uneasiness, this frustration is only rearing its ugly head because we are not minding His business…because we are exhausting our resources and energy to oppose His plan for us. And nothing, absolutely nothing, is more difficult than fighting our own nature…
In Him, in the midst of His plan for us, there is peace and serenity, there is fullness of joy and rest. There is Energy and Strength where before passivity and discouragement ruled.
So there, in the midst of the daily craziness, toddler crisis, laundry piling up and mounting bills, let’s be reminded that He is in control, that His plan is infinitely better than ours, and that through Him, it is always well with us.
On this note, enjoy where you are on the way to where He’s taking you, and remember to smile!
