How To Be Positive
Hope everyone had a super week-end, especially around this side of the blogosphere, with the New England Patriots victory against the New York Jets yesterday! Woohoo! (if you happen to be a Jets fan, well, you’re in need of some serious motivation, so please keep on reading…)
Well, even if you don’t happen to be a Pats fan with an extra pep in your step this morning, hopefully you do own one or two tips and tricks to crank yourself up to 3rd gear this Monday morning…If inspiration is not striking the right side of your brain today though, then grab the hottest cup of coffee you can brew with half an eye open, put on your glasses (no, the other way, with the lenses actually facing the eyes), and allow me to quickly share:
- See your glass half-full…of Red Bull: focus on the goodness in your life at this very moment, i.e. your half-eye open. Use it to locate the closest source of energy, be it coffee, Red Bull, or your screaming kid in need of a diaper change, and proceed to wake up…fast!
- Fake it ’til you make it…literally: Visualize yourself actually wearing a halfway decent outfit not stained with baby spit-up or yesterday’s dinner, rocking your hottest stilettos (of the same size and color), and getting to work on time…almost…and you may just get this long-awaited promotion…or a free (stolen) Donut from the Accounts Receivable’s Appreciation Day breakfast on the way to your cube…
- Reject negative thoughts: No, you do not need an extra heap of eye concealer and your hair is absolutely not looking totally busted at 7:50 am when work starts at 8:00 am, it’s all about perspective…you’ve been needing a new mirror for a while now anyways…
And if you’re still sitting on the throne with your refurbished iPhone 0.5 in hand, while your left leg is falling dangerously asleep, check out this inspirational YouTube video about the power of positivity:
Ready, now get off the toilet, it’s Monday, and you’re late…AGAIN!
